About the blogger
Rakeem Sharif is passionate about the endeavors of the charitable sector. He is a proud native of Newark, NJ, a vibrant and cultural city with close proximity to New York. Over his career, he’s worked and volunteered for countless nonprofits and has learned invaluable lessons that he would like to share with you. He is also a graduate of Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. He also holds a Master’s of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he studied Strategic Public Relations on the Nonprofit Management track.
He is active with several professional and civic organizations in the tri-state area. His memberships include: the Black Public Relations Society- NY, Virginia Union University National Alumni, and his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is also the newsletter editor for the Alpha East Journal, the Eastern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha’s quarterly newsletter.
